Half Hearted is a band on the rise within the Post Hardcore scene. They are a band with a unique sound. Half Hearted’s Finding Light EP shows the underground Post Hardcore scene is not dead.

“Sold Soul” starts of this EP with a bang. The songs starts with melodic instrumentation and screaming vocals. There are many crashes and builds within the song. There is a balance of clean and screaming vocals. “Flying & Falling” is the first single and music video. This is a catchy song that will have your toe tapping and head banging. The clean vocals are soulful and harmonious. “Finding Light” is the heaviest song on this album. This song sums up the EP based upon its lyrical theme and instrumentation. It makes the listener want more.

The instrumentation is well done. There are plenty of breakdowns that do not over power or sound out of place within each song. There is a mixture of screaming and clean vocals that compliment each other. There are themes of heart break and losing your faith throughout this album. My favorite song is”Flying & Falling.” I like this songs uniqueness and the video is well done and shows the songs theme. I would rate this record at 4.0 out of 5. This is a solid debut EP from a band you will continually hear about for years to come.

Go pick up Finding Light on iTunes.
