Re-post from www.mynameisceece.com
Earlier this year I was blessed with the opportunity to travel with my friends in Shadow of Whales to QuickTrip park in Grand Prairie, Tx just outside of Dallas to photograph them as part of their crew. Little did I know being on crew actually entitled me an all access pass for the entire day, this meant I could be side stage, back stage, and in the pit anytime I wanted for bands that I’ve been listening to since junior high and high school. It was cold and it rained all day but it was probably one of the most amazing days of my life because I was officially in the scene for a day.
To close the night, Mayday Parade closed Stage 2 with a bang (the very stage my friends opened up on) and I spent most of my time backstage in awe of the crowd and the band I had been listening to for so long. Finally seeing them live and from that perspective was so inspiring, it drove me to continue pressing on because I wanted to be a part of nights like that forever.
Fast forward just 6 months, a friend of mine tagged me in a post on instagram from Alternative Press about wanting photographers for the AP Tour with Mayday Parade.
On a whim, I emailed in a few pics of mine and my website just to see what happened. I saw ads on Facebook for the show and I thought “Man, what if I could actually get that Austin spot? Nah.”
Well… Then last night happened.
As It Is
This Wild Life
Even if none of these photos get posted or printed, I still had an amazing time and was so lucky to have the opportunity to do this.
